Trio 29 is a new musical venture featuring keyboardist Henry Hey, drummer Eric Halvorson, and organist Mitch Towne. The group draws from a myriad of influences ranging from jazz, blues, funk, and soul to create music that is a blast for them to play and for the audience to experience.

HENRY HEY is a well-known keyboard player, musical director, producer, arranger and composer. In 2015, David Bowie asked Henry to be the orchestrator/arranger/musical director for David's theatrical piece, 'Lazarus,' and he subsequently produced the cast album as well. Henry was the musical director and pianist for George Michael's 'Symphonica' recording and tour. Henry was also the musical director and pianist for Rod Stewart's 'Great American Songbook' - both recording on the albums and leading the band during worldwide touring. Henry has recorded and or toured with many diverse artists such as Arianne Grande, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Dionne Warwick, Harry Belafonte, Blood Sweat and Tears as well as musicians from the world of jazz and improvised music with artist such as Donny McCaslin, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Cassandra Wilson, Theo Bleckman, Bill Evans, Till Bronner, Alex Sipiagin, Joe Locke, Bill Bruford, Wayne Krantz, Seamus Blake, Chris Botti, and more.

ERIC HALVERSON has been active on the New York City music scene for over 20 years. He has performed with a variety of jazz artists, Broadway stars, as well as songwriter and pianist Marvin Hamlisch; soul singer Ben E. King; and legendary blues artist Pinetop Perkins. Eric has performed for the Kennedy Center Honors (2008, 2010) and at numerous festivals including the Monterey Jazz Festival and the Montreal Jazz Festival. He was the drummer for the 2015 Broadway revival of Gigi. He has also played in the Broadway orchestras of Wicked, Pippin, West Side Story, Sister Act, Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Shrek, Xanadu, and the L.A. production of Follies. Eric is a PAISTE cymbal artist.

MITCH TOWNE is a keyboardist and organ player whose ability to move seamlessly between diverse styles has made him a sought-after side-man with multi-platinum artists John “J.R.” Robinson and Aloe Blacc, jazz heavyweights Ryan Kisor, Terrace Martin, Dave Stryker, Matt Wilson, Jerry Bergonzi and Troy Roberts, and blues artist Eric Gales. In 2015, Towne played organ on the track “Push” for the album “Velvet Portraits” by Terrace Martin, which was nominated for a 2016 Grammy for “Best R&B” album. He is currently musical director for “The J.R. Robinson Experience.” Towne is an endorsing artist for MAG Organs and Motion Sound Amplifiers.
